I don’t think he’s in-love with haewon. Based on the past chapters it seems like he’s longing for love, warmth and protection cause moyong noble clan tends to use and abuse their own family members. He was a child when his father put a parasite inside him to control him. If you guys remember the attack in the Dang clan while Haewon was fighting the 10,000 poison pill, Haewon said a lot of things while she kills the assassin, one of them was something like as long as she’s alive she will protect all her people. Not the exact words but ya got the gist? And then He thought something along the lines of him wanting to be with Haewon, and he’s wondering if then she will really protect him? The one occupying his sister’s body even said that what hwi really wants is for the Moyong Noble Clan to be destroyed. It’s actually really sad, my heart always cry whenever I see him, so please don’t hate him hehe. I really hope Haewon can save him too.
Moyong Noble Clan is rotten but Moyong Hwi is also one of the victims. More than anyone he’s probably the one who wants to see the Moyong Noble Clan destroyed the most. Haewon please save him too.
