ML is not the victim he’s a sh*t who can’t do anything FL is the only victim he even help the ML everytime she can and what she get is “I wish you were dead” he has trust issue and the hell even ahsel with only little time they spend together knew that she has a curse but thay ML sh*t didn’t and doubted her
The ML is certainly a victim. It doesn’t excuse his awful behavior, but it does inform it. He was obviously suffering ptsd from his time as a child, and ‘losing’ Rue. His every day he was forced to relive his trauma by the Duke, who also used his daughter to reinforce the trauma.
Magic hid her actual status, scars and situation. She couldn’t tell him the truth and so it reinforced his mistrust and frustration.
That all being said – his behavior is inexcusable. He was using her to get back at the Duke, not realizing the Duke didn’t care about her welfare and treatment.
My honest feelings? The Duke played him, and he did everything the Duke wanted. Including making Rue miserable. He was a fool, and an idiot and deserves the pain he’s getting now, realizing how badly he was played.
Just because he was also a victim doesn’t forgive what he has done.
