So Roxana lead an uprising. I believe the barrier Lant is talking about is in reference to the drawing that the sister was talking about which is basically a magic circle. In the book (Griselda?) was the best at drawing them so she betrayed Lant by drawing the magic circle that activated when the non-cute brother’s blood was spilled by Lant. But anyway, Griselda betrayed Lant by doing magic.
Cassius is invading same time. He is looking for Lant and Roxana. Tells his people not to kill the people running away only those who fight them. Cassius ran into the oldest son after he escaped the cell but it is weird because some of those lines were given to (the son) and Dion in the jail encounter in the previous chapters so not sure if they changed it or if I misunderstood or a mistranslation. The encounter makes a bit more sense with Cassius instead of Dion but we get a lot less screen time of Dion.
I don’t recall Jeremy having this expanded roll in the novel translation I read. The scene I recall is coming up.
I believe Roxana set fire to the place to add to chaos and burn it down. She is tired of all this.
Dion is trying to catch Lant before he escapes completely and encounters Lant in the tunnel. It looks like they’re cutting Sierra’s scenes out of this fight or they forgot about her.
