In his past life, although too weak to protect his home when it counted, out of grave determination Nie Li became the strongest Demon Spiritist and stood at the pinnacle of the martial world. However, he lost his life during the battle with the Sage Emperor and six deity-ranked beasts.
His soul was then brought back to when he was still 13 years old. Although he’s the weakest in his class with the lowest talent, having only a red soul realm and a weak one at that, with the aid of the vast knowledge which he accumulated from his previous life, he decided to train faster than anyone could expect. He also decided to help those who died nobly in his previous life to train faster as well.
He aims to protect the city from the coming future of being devastated by demon beasts and the previous fate of ending up destroyed. He aims to protect his lover, friends, family and fellow citizens who died in the beast assault or its aftermath. And he aims to destroy the so-called Sacred family who arrogantly abandoned their duty and betrayed the city in his past life.

Without contact from the outside for “hundreds or thousands of years”, I’m surprised she even knew what rice was. They live on a plateau and eat powder broth and meat. There were a couple small streams up there, but I didn’t see any cultivated land.(rice is planted in submerged soil)

That sounds like two to me… They are often lumped together in fiction, but in reality they are very much different. But that’s not generally something I’ll expect a web novel author to care about.
There’s a written joke about Asian novelists: “Those that are good at math’s and science go on to higher education and make a career, those that dont become web novelists.” ?
If you have read the attempted science and crunch numbers from a lot of the novels you find… that seems to be true for a high percent of them.
Many eastern publishers seem to write fiction to make money and to sell a story. Most of them focus on continuation, rather than credibility, so plot holes, poor rules of physics, and poor consistency are common. Usually attributed to “magic” or similar phenomenon. But that can be attributed to the strict timelines of publishers, not necessarily the fault of the authors themselves. If it cant be done quickly and efficiently, then it’s not making enough money.

How did he make almost no impact when he landed with increased gravity? ONE of his weapons alone caused a crater when it fell to the ground. He is large, and he has two of those, yet he landed while barely disturbing the grass under the gravity field effect. He must have really strong legs to both absorb the impact and remain standing while carrying what seems to compare to 2 lead bowling balls on sticks.

If he can wear legend rank armor as a gold rank, why did they bother to couple the strength of armor with the strength of the user previously? Such as in the family auction when his patriarch thought he was buying gold rank armor for him because he was the only gold rank spiritualist in the family.
Before, he couldn’t use the full strength of the sword or the flying knives because his cultivation wasn’t high enough, but now, that wasn’t even mentioned.

If the Sacred Family, one of the top three families in the entire city, gave their kids high ranked armor, I guarantee that the fights mc had with them at the beginning would have gone very differently.
Yet none of the successors to the top families had high rank armor on even when they went to explore outside at the ruins where they found the temporal page and the shadow spirit… I wonder why that is?

Really? If the dark guild has access to a whole other realm where they can live semi comfortably, why did they bother taking Glory City? The demon lord’s revenge was swept clean long ago with the destruction of the family that killed his adopted father, and he has a place that helped him grow powerful. By destroying the city, not only are they ruining the lives of countless people, they are ruining a paradise compared to a place like this netherworld seems to be.
Giving the city to the demon beasts is shooting themselves in the foot. What are they going to do once the city collapses? Return to this dreary hole in the wall?

The way they talked about legend rank in the beginning made me thing that the old man would be just at legend rank, maybe middle range somewhere, but I guess he never stopped and made it to the top the way they are talking now. *sigh* A master’s work is never done…

I believe it was mentioned that he was at the pinnacle of legend rank, just hadn’t fully comprehended his Law enough to be called a full Demigod rank yet; which is why our MC’s advice early on in meeting him was so welcome and helpful and why that was all he had to do back in town to become a Demigod to fight off the main army.
