Apparently while it seemed like a few hours to the readers apparently it was a few days at least, we just got a compressed look at events. The dragon apparently was waiting around for the MC to be digested and take his lightning book skill then distracted by the injuries from the MC giving this garbage to scheme to steal everything the MC had and what his family also had.
