the adaptation skipped a load of stuff from the novel, YC tells more of the story about how YX’s parents sacrificed their life to protect him, swapped kids and diverted the attention of the holy grounds so the Yun couple could escape, etc, here though you do not see any of that, that’s why it feels odd that he gets rewarded for nothing.
