Why did the black mark appeared again?

Probably because the dragon took over and it was a mark from the dragon, which likehoodly was sealed from the family’s ancestors.
1. So, I think the family’s ancestors fought once against the dragon and sealed him away in his body and it was past on, which resulted in the black mark curse.
OR
2. The dragon had signed a pact, the ancestor and the dragon got defeated and were cursed, which resulted in the black mark curse and the dragon being sealed.
Although from the dragon’s reaction I think the first answer is more reasonable/relatable.
