The title’s a bit ambiguous, it should read The Duke’s Useless Daughter since it’s the daughter that’s useless. As written it could mean that the duke is useless with the story about the daughter (so ‘the useless duke’s’ daughter’) instead of (the USELESS duke’s daughter with the emphasis so that it carries to the ‘daughter’ rather than ‘duke’).
