If I’m Hellianne, I wouldn’t care about the duchess. Because even IF she is my birth mother, the only mother I knows is my mother who care and help me grow up with lots of loves rather than some woman who suddenly appear and say that I’m her daughter.
No matter how much I know the ‘truth’ about my ‘family’, the one I love the most will be always my mother who take care of me. (Well, assuming that the maid is a really good mother).
Her giving a birth doesn’t mean she is a mother. Because in my eyes, being a mother is a process.
