I don’t know why anyone would cheer for the dad considering he was prepared to kill his own granchild, sell his daughter to a shady count after her brother murdered her husband in cold blood. The only reason he seems like a decent person right now is because his daughter hasn’t done anything harmful to the familys reputation.
Also to the commenters from chapter 5, she did not “manipulate” him into becoming a cheater. She simply chose him as her fiance because #1: his background was comparable to the crown prince and #2: she felt his handsome face made it more likely that he would wind up cheating on her.
