Honestly, im sure, even if Kamut would be a little tyranny by executing F**king duke on the spot be fitting of rage, no one would dare to complain. After all his power as Emperror is quite solid and after the show of nobles of duke’s faction turned demons, i doubt any sane man would still take duke’s side.
As far as the story show us, the figure heads in lead of the villain group are only Duke and dark mage, eliminate them is always a good and quick solution. It’s annoying that MCs are too good nature people to the point, it’s foolish. If the eviden is need, you can always forge one up later. and even after his love almost die in front of his very eyes, how could he still be so calm? If it’s me i would, at least, cut Duke’s tongue, throw him in prison, and have mage enforced prison with cage magic. At least, the f**ker would have a hard time spill his annoyance nonsense.
