  He’s trying to connect but he’s not putting effort much.
  Though I understand and pity him a little. He himself didn’t received love from his parents, and might be raised like how he had raised FL in the previous life. But still, what he did in the other life is saddening. But I hope he can redeem himself one day. At least it will be a closure for him and the other girls.
  Cosette and ger mother died because he let it happen “for the Parvis family”, that is why he indulge FL’s grandfather and sent Cosette mother away without batting an eyelash.

I’ve been in that position of not being close with your parent… And just full of…. all I can say is Negativity. And once we forgave each other and clear the misunderstandings, it feeeeelllllsssss sooo good! It so light in the feeling, as if some weight was removed from your back!

So I want the forgiveness rather than letting the Duke to suffer fore long. Because readers doesn’t know and might not understand. The longer the Duke is suffering, is also the longer Kiera will suffer. Because the knot in her heart (which is her father) is not straightened.

I agree with all the other comments bellow. I don’t agree that many innocent people have died because of the devil, but who is to blame? THE DUKE. All this troubles stared from him. I hate Cosette but she’s the devil, not the real Cosette. I pity Cosette’s mother as well, she might not be a good woman because she wants power, but the FL’s Grandfather is also hateful.

The family setting is good tbh. We have a baad grandfather from the FL’s side. An oppressed First wife and became of that an innocent child died because of the people connected to the FL. (Not her fault ok).

For me it’s enough. He suffered already, he was betrayed, he was alone, and he sacrificed his soul to bring back FL. now that in this current life he remembers the past, he will still be haunted by the guilt he created. So for me it’s enough. Hope he can also have a good ending, at least I hope he can redeem himself this time, for his peace of mind, for the his son and the FL’s.
